Private Health Insurance Patient Information

You can use your private medical insurance to fund your physiotherapy treatment at our clinic

Stretch is registered with all the major private medical insurance companies so you should be able to use your health insurance to pay for your treatment at our clinic. If you wish to fund your treatment in this way, please let us know when you are booking your initial appointment. Some private health insurers will ask you to get a referral from your GP, others will accept a self-referral and will ask you some questions over the telephone before authorising your treatment. Once your health insurer has authorised your treatment, we can arrange it for you.

We offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments so you can arrange your treatment around your lifestyle. At the time of booking your appointment, please let Michelle our Secretary know the following information:

  • The name of your insurance company
  • Your policy number
  • Authorisation number
  • The number of treatment sessions that have been authorised.

Most insurance companies authorise between 5 and 12 sessions, depending on your condition and the level of your policy cover. We find that most clients need approximately 5 sessions of physiotherapy treatment. However, if following your initial treatment allocation, we feel that you would benefit from further treatment; we will liaise with your insurer and where possible will arrange this for you.

In the majority of cases, we will invoice your health insurer directly at the end of your treatment. However, some insurers now request that we recover your insurance excess from you and take this amount off their invoice, where this is the case, your insurer should let you know. In such instances, please arrange to make your insurance excess payment to us at your initial appointment. Payments can be made via cash, check or bank transfer.

Medicolegal Assessments and Treatment

Partner information for Medicolegal Healthcare Providers and Solicitors

We provide expert physiotherapy to help your clients to recover from their injuries. Our rapid and effective care helps to boast their recovery, limiting the effect of an accident or injury on their quality of life. Our Clinical Director is an Extended Scope Physiotherapy Practitioner, thus our team has further knowledge and training in the triage of serious pathology (red flags), the management of complex case and chronic pain. We understand the biopsychosocial model and how an accident or injury can have a significant affect on a client’s life. We have been trained in Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT), an assessment and treatment framework designed by Peter O’Sullivan. We believe that this approach is revolutionary and highly applicable to all musculoskeletal pathology. We use his ethos with excellent results to restore normal movement, reduce pain, increase understanding and restore function. We use CFT alongside our more traditional physiotherapy techniques such as joint mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue release, acupuncture and graded exercise. We also use health coaching techniques to help clients to achieve their goals, to promote overall wellbeing and effective self management.

Our Director completed a Masters Degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Practice, as part of this she studied the use and interpretation diagnostic tests such as blood tests, x-rays, ultrasound scans and MRIs. Through her NHS work she orders these tests where indicated to guide patient management and therefore, our team understands exactly when physiotherapy treatment is appropriate and when a client needs to be referred for urgent medical review or further investigations. We also understand that investigation results need to be viewed in the context of the wider clinical picture and understand the importance of treating the person and not just the scan result. We will however, review images and reports and understand how the result may help to guide a client’s treatment.
We are dedicated to clinical excellence; providing instant access to specialist, patient-centred, evidence-based musculoskeletal physiotherapy. We provide our clients with the best rehabilitation experience, helping them to achieve their goals and quickly return to work, sport and play. Thereby, limiting the effect of their accident or injury on their wellbeing and lifestyle. Our professional team has the expert knowledge and skills to meet your client’s needs.

We provide rapid access to specialist comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Our statistics show that for a new patient attending our clinic, the average number of treatment sessions required through to discharge is just 5. Our treatments provide speedy pain relief, while dealing with the underlying cause of the symptoms. We believe that this and our relaxed and friendly environment, is why our patient satisfaction surveys have universally rated us as excellent.

We offer a wide range of physiotherapy treatments and provide specific home exercise programmes and advice, to ensure that progress is maintained. All our clients are provided with either an emailed or printed copy of their exercise programme and, where appropriate, evidence based advice booklets or information regarding useful website links.

We ensure that on discharge, we have not only treated the injury but have provided clients with the advice and exercises that they need to prevent recurrent problems. Our team will liaise with you, GP’s and Consultants, where appropriate, providing updates on clients’ progress. We will inform you immediately, when additional medical referral or further investigation is required.

We will ensure that clients are contacted by our Secretary and offered an appointment within 24 hours of any treatment instruction. We provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and discharge reports within 24 hours of a client’s appointment. Additional medicolegal reports will be provided within 48 hours of request. Clients will be treated at a convenient central location, with free onsite parking.

If you would like to work with us please contact us and we will be happy to negotiate a contract with you.
